Boarding Requirements and Agreement
Required Health Certifications
- Distemper vaccination combo (commonly referred to as DHPP): this includes distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza.
- Rabies vaccination
- Bordetella vaccination: protects against “kennel cough”, a highly contagious respiratory infection with symptoms similar to the flu
- Internal parasite control: There are several different products available from your vet to control internal parasites such as heartworm, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms. These medications are usually administered as a monthly chewable tablet. Some of these products are Interceptor, Heartguard, Sentinel, and Revolution.
- External parasite control: Your vet can also provide products to control external parasites such as fleas, ticks and mites. These products are generally administered as a topical medication applied along the upper spine of your dog. Some of these products are Frontline, Program, Sentinel, Advantage, Advantix and Revolution. FLEA & TICK COLLARS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT DEJA’S DOGGIE CAMP. If your dog arrives wearing one of these collars, it will be removed. The chemicals in these collars could be dangerous if ingested by one of your dog’s fellow campers.
Weight / Size Limits
Deja’s Doggie Camp caters to the smaller house dogs but will take dogs up to 40 lbs in weight and 22 inches at the shoulder. This is approximately the size of a Springer Spaniel or smaller. Dogs that are larger than this may find it difficult to navigate the family room doggie door. In addition, some of our smaller campers are afraid of the larger dogs and they do play a little rough sometimes. So, for the safety and happiness of all of our boarded dogs, we only take these smaller sized dogs.
Spay / Neuter
Since our canine campers are allowed to interact with each other throughout the day, we do require all dogs to be spayed or neutered. We appreciate your understanding.
